by Generation Ag

Episode Description

The NextGenBioPest is an innovative European research project implemented by Smart Agro Hub, funded by the Horizon Europe program as an Innovation Action. It aims to increase crop yields while reducing the use of chemical pesticides. The project will develop new and improved products, methods, and practices for the rational control of major pests and pathogens, significantly reducing pesticide use.

The main goal of NextGenBioPest is to reduce chemical pesticide use by developing environmentally friendly solutions, including:

  • RNA-based pesticides

  • Biological control agents

  • Green chemicals

Angeliki Milioti, MSc, Dissemination, Exploitation, and Communication Manager at Smart Agro Hub, presents the project in a discussion with Sotiris Katselos, Communication Director at New Agriculture New Generation.
